1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Online Electricity Application System (“the System”), you agree to comply with these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and applicable laws, including Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, and other relevant digital and electronic transaction laws. If you do not agree, please do not use the System.
2. Eligibility
The System is intended for use by individuals and entities who are legally capable of entering into binding contracts under Ugandan law. Minors or individuals lacking legal capacity must have a parent or guardian’s consent to use the System.
3. User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information when applying or using the System.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials and not share your account details with third parties.
- Use the System solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Not attempt to interfere with or disrupt the operation of the System or compromise its security.
4. Use Limitations
- You agree not to use the System for fraudulent, unlawful, or malicious activities.
- Unauthorized access, hacking, or attempting to breach security measures is strictly prohibited and may constitute a criminal offense under Ugandan law.
5. Content Ownership and Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and design elements of the System are owned by or licensed to the Ministry. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the System for its intended purpose.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the System is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the System, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data as described therein.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The System is provided on an "as-is" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The Ministry makes no guarantees regarding system availability, accuracy, or security.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Ministry shall not be liable for any damages, loss, or harm resulting from the use or inability to use the System, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or third-party actions.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Ministry and its officers, employees, or affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the System.
10. Amendments
The Ministry reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time, with updates posted on the System. Continued use of the System constitutes acceptance of those modifications.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by Ugandan law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Ugandan courts.
