The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development is responsible for establishing policies, monitoring and evaluating programmes aimed at the development of the energy and mineral sectors in Uganda. The ministry works to ensure sustainable energy supply and mineral resource development for national development.
Through the Rural Electrification Department and other key institutions, we are committed to extending electricity access to rural communities, institutions, and businesses across Uganda. Our comprehensive approach includes grid extension, off-grid solutions, and renewable energy initiatives that align with Ugandas Vision 2040.
The Online Electrification Application System (OEAS) represents our commitment to digitizing services and making electricity connection applications more accessible, transparent, and efficient for all Ugandans.
